As you may have noticed, all of the Nibblebits blogs you’ve been following are, well, gone. As you can see, I’m starting over here, so bare with me while I start getting some content up. The explanation is basically the following:

Nibblebit did not own the servers where the blogs were being hosted. At some point near the end of last week, someone registered a complaint with the servers’ owners claiming that one of the Nibblebit blogs contained child pornography. The owners immediate shutdown Nibblebit and cut off Nibblebit’s access to the content on their servers. As the backups were on the same servers, there was nothing Nibblebit could do to recover the blogs.

The Nibblebit owners have found a new host and have promised that they will be making daily off-site backups should such a problem occur again so that blog owners will not lose their content again.

Is this frustrating? Absolutely. I had to restart BoIdolatry from scratch after it was shutdown by Blogger for reported violations of their terms of service. Despite repeated requests over the past three months, nobody at Blogger has ever actually investigated whether there were any violations, and the blog is still there just accessible only to me and Blogger staff — Blogger is simply ignoring it and the review requests … . So, I started over here, and now, after three months and more than 100 MB of pictures posted, I’m forced to start over again.
